It’s Been ANOTHER Year
“What a great chapter, I’m reading a book called, “My Life”, I can’t wait to see how it turns out!”
- Chris Carlisle
Wow, that was fast!
365 days have spun by so fast! As I said in an earlier Thursday Thought, “It is true that time does fly. But when you spend time with those that you love, time becomes the memories that make life worth living.” This year has been full of memories that I will always cherish. New friends and old friends have made this year fly by. Laughs and stories have filled my life as one day turned to the next!
When I look back at my desk calendar I can say one thing, “Geez, I was busy!” Between speaking, preparing for a talk, traveling and writing I have been going on average six days a week.
I was asked recently, “Do you miss the game?” My answer just jumped out, “Not one bit. I miss the people, not the game. My passion happened Monday thru Saturday. The game was for the players, the coaches and the fans.” My destination was not game day. My passion was found in lifting the people I was with higher, so they could find their optimal self.
There isn’t a day that goes by that I wish I was doing something else other than what I was doing at that time. It may have been as simple as scheduling posts for my social media. It may have been as fulfilling as being the officiant at Tyler and Jessica Coyan’s wedding in Idaho. It may have been as auspicious as inspiring educators or as gratifying as giving my two day Training the Explosive Athlete seminar to coaches trying to change their path by thinking differently than they had in the past. It may have been so much fun as challenging the thinking of entrepreneurs and business leaders. It may have been as vital as listening to a CEO speak about the issues that they were having and asking me to help them lift their company to great heights.
In the end I get to live my passion, helping others maximize their professional and personal opportunities!
Now to the question I ask all those I get to work with and speak to: What’s Next?
I am working on my second book, which will be a collection of my first 100 blogs. These essays sum up, what I consider, the path of an Elite Performer. The book will have five sections: Passion – Preparation – Practice – Performance and Practice. These topics come out of my book Move or Die.
The cool thing is that my experiences have continued to stack up with the clients I work with and the people that I come in contact with as I go around the country speaking to diverse groups of professionals. Everyday I learn or find clarity in the process of either what causes some to become stuck, or what causes someone to rise to the top of their field.
As I said earlier, I can’t imagine doing anything other than what I am doing right now.
I hope one day that you will find the same balance that I have found. And if you are looking for that balance connect with me via social media or on my website (www.thecoachcarlisle.com).
Have an amazing and blessed NEW YEAR! Make it your best ever.
