Passion

To be the best, one cannot just “hope” to be better.  Being better isn’t just about the time that you commit to your time in the office.  It’s not about what you have done in your past.  It’s now about all the information you have acquired.  Being the best, becoming successful, living out your life’s dreams begins with the hardest part of being an Elite Performer.  Having an unquenchable PASSION!

By “passion” I mean that you must be totally consumed with being the best.  Not just eight hours a day / 40 hours a week.  PASSION has no clock, because PASSION is not something that can be turned on and turned off.  I’m talking every minute of your day and every second of your nights.  You need to think, eat, drink, and most of all dream about how to make your life’s goals come to fruition.

It must be a flame, from within, that never goes out, but only gets hotter.  It’s not five days a week, it’s seven days a week.  There is no vacation, no relaxing, no delegating it is on you!  All of the time!  Every second, minute, hour, day, week, month, year.

This is why there are very few people who have built their own world.  Sure, there are those who inherited their “success” or have obtained the “big desk”.  In many companies, if you stay long enough and don’t make waves, you too can be the “boss”.  But those opportunities are rare and they don’t last long.  Eventually, everyone sees those people for who they are.

I’m talking to the person who wants to achieve their dreams through hard work and effort.  If you’re reading this you are probably like me.  Everything we have we have earned on our own.  I started as a high school teacher and football coach and ended my career going to Super Bowls.  I started my speaking career speaking to tourists at Fort Robinson State Park in western Nebraska.  I then moved to classrooms where students had to listen to me.  I then moved into college and professional sports where I was given a voice by the head football coach to speak to the entire organization.  During that climb, I would speak at coaching clinics to fifteen to twenty coaches.  Then it became twenty to thirty, in my last coaching clinic talk I had the largest room and it was standing room only with coaches in the hall taking notes with the doors open.

Away from coaching, I began speaking to civic groups of fifteen to twenty business people.  I then moved on to small companies and then larger and then finally to packed rooms speaking to national salespeople.

This all came about because of my PASSION to be the best in my given field.  Nothing was given to me.  I had to earn every opportunity both coaching and speaking.  Still today I am working on passing the message of success.  IT ISN’T EASY.  If it were then everyone would be doing it.  Be stronger than your competition by your passion.
